David came out from Orlando with his dad for a day of fishing on the Banana River. Despite the windy conditions, they managed to catch some nice fish. He caught trout, lady fish, jacks, mangrove snapper, & this nice redfish. @rcioptics @daiwausa @fishmonkeygloves @minnkotamotors @strike_zone_melbourne @manoverboard_bt @actioncraftboatsMade it out on the Indian River this morning slinging DOA soft plastics from my Dragonfly paddleboard. There's something so enjoyable about fishing artificial baits from a paddle craft. Peace & quiet along with the simplicity of the entire experience. Also not having to clean a boat & trailer at the end of the day. I ended up catching 5 different species of fish. Had several swing & misses on some large snook & a tarpon. Got into a decent trout bite and they were inhaling my lure. Mostly fished a 3" paddle tail on a 1/16 oz jighead and the CAL 4" swim bait rigged on an unweighted weedless hook. Definitely one of the larger sharks that I've seen in the Indian River. It was just cruising and didn't seem to mind my company. It inhaled a 3" DOA paddle tail in purple with green sparkle on a 1/16 oz jig head.
