They caught lots of fish and more than 8 different species. Thai had the magic touch and he caught some of the biggest fish that he's ever caught. Some cobia action along with several endangered red snappers and a nice flounder on the slow pitch jig with my new Daiwa outrage medium heavy rod with a Daiwa saltist SD15j jigging reel. Super fun set up for shallow water bottom fishing. Also a big shout out to fish monkey gloves. Their gloves and buffs keep me out in the sun without getting burnt, especially on these hot summer days. My family & I sailed for 5 days on our friend's catamaran, "Water Wings." This was our last night staying on the boat. There was a full moon and it was the first night that we had tarpon in our under water lights behind the boat gulping glass minnows. It just so happened that I had my 9 wt fly rod and a handful of glass minnow flies. Finally hooked one after missing the hook-set on the 1st three eats. Fought it for about 45 minutes and through a rain squal before getting broke off. It is one those epic fishing moments that will be imprinted in my memory forever! #waterwings #tarpononfly #tarponfishing #tarponfly
